What financing options are available?
For those without insurance, we offer an in-office wellness plan. This plan, essentially our insurance plan, gives you 20% off dental treatment and includes prepayment for a couple of cleanings per year, along with all x-rays and exams. We also offer third-party financing through companies such as Care Credit, Sunbit, Cherry, and others. These companies offer different rates depending on your credit score. You can get 12-month interest-free financing or extend it up to 60 months, allowing you up to five years to pay off your dental costs.
Do you have to pay for dental procedures upfront?
We require at least a deposit, but we prefer full prepayment. We also offer a 5% discount if you pay in full before the procedure.
What are the dental financing options available?
As mentioned earlier, we use several third-party financing companies like Cherry, Care Credit, and Sunbit. Sunbit approves anyone with a credit score of 500 or above, which includes almost everyone. If you have semi-decent credit, you will likely be approved for financing.
Does dental financing require a credit check?
All these third-party financing companies perform at least a soft credit check, which does not impact your credit score. However, they do conduct a quick check before offering financing. Our in-office wellness plan does not require a credit check, as it involves prepaying for services you would have paid for anyway, with a discount on the back end.
Do dental insurances typically cover the cost of most dental procedures?
Dental insurances do not typically cover the full cost of dental treatment. Dental insurance should be viewed as a discount plan rather than true insurance like health insurance. Dental insurance negotiates a reduced rate with the dental office, and as the insurance holder, you are entitled to that reduced rate. They will cover some of the cost, usually about half of pre-negotiated costs for procedures like crowns. The remaining cost can be financed. For example, if your insurance's negotiated rate on a crown is $1,000 and your insurance covers $500, you can finance the remaining $500 with Care Credit, Cherry, Sunbit, or other financing companies we use.
How can I find out if my insurance will cover the cost of my dental procedures?
If you have questions about whether your insurance will cover any or all of your dental procedure costs, we will look that up for you. As soon as you contact us with your insurance information, we'll conduct all necessary research so that before your first appointment, we can inform you of what your insurance will contribute and provide an estimate of your out-of-pocket expenses.
If my insurance covers only a partial cost of my dental procedure, can I finance the remaining cost?
Yes, if insurance only covers part of your treatment, you can finance the remaining amount. For example, if the insurance fee for a crown is $1,000 and they cover $500, you can finance the remaining $500 with multiple available financing options.
Can you also help me to find financing options?
Our office will gladly help you find financing options beyond your insurance. We work with several third-party financing companies, some of which approve you with a credit score of 500 or above. The higher your credit score, the lower the interest rate. Depending on the loan term, interest rates vary—12-month loans typically cost less than five-year loans, but the choice is between you and the company.
How can I get started with dental financing?
To get started with dental financing, schedule an appointment with us. We will review a treatment plan, inform you of the costs, and, if needed, contact several financing companies to help you with the application. Some applications are very straightforward, requiring only a driver's license scan for near-instant approval.
